At the hairdresser’s - Hair treatments

At the hairdresser’s - Hair treatments

Oto kolejna część angielskiego kursu branżowego dla fryzjerów. Tym razem poznacie wyrażenia i zwroty związane z pielęgnacją suchych i zniszczonych włosów po wakacjach.

 Part 4. Hair treatments

Lisa: Hi Mark.
Mark: Good Morcing, Lisa, I haven’t seen you for ages.
Lisa: I was away on holidays: I spent 3 weeks in Italy, and then a week in Portugal.
Mark: Sounds like a great summer! You look well rested, too. I believe the weather was good, judging by this great tan, Your hair is lighter, too.
Lisa: That’s  the point! I need your help. My hair is very dry. It breaks and I have problems styling it. Besides, the hair gets all tangled after I wash it, I have real problems combing it out.
Mark: You’re right, I can see that the ends are dry and they break easily. The scalp is dry, too – too much sun and salty water, I’m afraid. It is normal, though, that hair needs extra care after the summer. Fortunately, there is no dandruff. Have you been using the hair mousse and the conditioner for coloured hair that I recommended to you last time?
Lisa: I sure did, but I have to admit I spent a lot of time in the sun. And all that swimming in the sea…
Mark: You certainly need an intensive hydrating treatment. I’ll wash your hair first, then apply the treatment product – it is an intensively hydrating hair masque. I’ll Massage it into your hair. We’ll  also apply some of this repair oil that prevents hair ends from splitting.
Lisa: Sounds great. May I also be treated with a head massage?
Mark: Certainly. A relaxing head massage is an important part of every treatment. After I apply the mask and give you a massage, I’ll need you to sit for half an hour under a special device that produces warm steam. The warm and vapour will make hair scales open, and thus the conditioner will be able to penetrate further into the hair structure – the results will be better, too.
Lisa: This conditioner has an amazing scent!
Mark: Not only does the  masque have a beautiful scent, but it also contains loads of herbal extracts with hydrating and nourishing properties, for instance papaya and coconout extracts. They will smooth your hair and give it a lovely shine. Moreover, they protect the colour from fading. You’ll see for yourself!

After the treatment

Lisa: I got really hot because of that steam.
Mark: Look at the results, though! Touch your hair.
Lisa: You’re right, it was worth it! The hair was so soft and silky. And this amazing shine!
Mark: I’m glad you can see the difference. The hair is more springy, it is hydrated, looks healthy and neat. You won’t have any more problems combing it. We could also get rid of these split ends to improve the overall shape of your hairstyle. What do you reckon?
Lisa: OK! How often do  I need to have such treatments? The result is truly amazing.
Mark: Your hair is naturally quite dry and fragile, therefore it needs hydrating. Your hair could benefit from such treatments as often as twice month. I can, however recommend conditioner that you can use at home, let’s say once a week. You simply apply some on wet hair and rinse it off after a few minutes. You should also use hydrating shampoo and conditioning mousse that does not require rinsing off.
Lisa: Excellent. Now I know how to take care of my hair after the summer.
