Part 7. Highlights
Lisa: Good morning Mark.
Mark: Good morning Lisa. Lovely to see you, so how was your summer?
Lisa: It was amazing, I had a great time and I was very pleased that I’d decided to have a perm.
Mark: I’m glad to hear it... So, what would you like me to do today, then?
Lisa: First of all my hair got bleached by the sun during the summer and actually I’m really happy with this colour for now. I was thinking of having some highlights and lowlights done to give it a more interesting look, but, on the other hand, I was wondering what will happen if, in a few months, I want to return to my darker colour
Mark: hmmm... I would go for some highlights and lowlights and than colour in between, very similar to your natural colour. I would use semi permanent colour to give a lovely sheen and this colour would wash out gradually as well.
Lisa: Sounds interesting.
Mark: In a couple of months, for winter, we could go for a darker colour if you like, but then we would have to precolour your hair. Anyway, we will see in a couple of weeks how you feel about the colour
Lisa: Ok, Let’s do as you suggested. I trust you Mark.
Protect your customer with gown, towel, plastic cap and prepare equipment required
for colour application:
• aluminium foil/easy meshes
• pin tail
• sectioning clips
• gloves
• plastic bowls and a tinting brush
Full head highlights application:
1. Prepare the hair by sectioning.
2. Take a fine section of hair.
3. Wave close to the scalp (depending on what kind of result you would like to achieve, you may wave the hair or take it in slices (sections)).
4. Place foil underneath the woven section.
5. Keep the foil as close to the roots as possible.
6. Apply the prepared product on hair.
7. Close foil by sealing at corners.
8. Apply the semi permanent colour between the foil as quickly as possible.
9. Leave on for the full recommended time.
Rinsing:
10. Rinse the colour in between the foil and then remove the foil and rinse again. (you
may use colour from in between to tone
11. Shampoo, use post colour shampoo to restore the natural pH to the hair. The benefits of using a pH balancer are that it closes the cuticule, restores the pH balance to the hair and will help to prevent moisture loss and the colour will last longer.
12. After rinsing out the shampoo, apply conditioning treatment – colour finish serum – post colour & long lasting protection for colour treated hair.
Mark: That’s it. Are we going to trim your hair?
Lisa: Not this time, thank you.
Mark: So let’s dry your hair now, shall we scrunch or smooth your hair?
Lisa: Maybe straight, a nice and sleeky look.
Mark: Ok, so what do you think?
Lisa: I’m very happy as usual. Thank you and see you soon. Bye.
Mark: Bye
